If you want to own a true Red spider then beware as many people are selling a hybrids of this plant and not the true spider.

These Red spiders I have are true and taken from the mother plant.

No special needs but does prefer temperatures between 17 - 27 degrees and indirect sunlight, early morning or late evening sunlight is best. Likes to be moist but not overly wet.

Anthurium Red Spider Plant

The Anthurium, commonly known for its striking heart-shaped flowers and glossy green leaves, is a popular choice among indoor plant enthusiasts. When combined with the Spider Plant, which is known for its arching green and white striped foliage and air-purifying qualities, you can create a vibrant and dynamic display.

Characteristics

  • Anthurium: The Anthurium boasts vibrant, red spathes and a central spadix that adds to its aesthetic appeal. It thrives in bright, indirect light and prefers a humid environment, making it an ideal candidate for bathrooms and kitchens.

  • Spider Plant: The Spider Plant (Chlorophytum comosum) features long, slender leaves that can reach up to 40 cm in length. It is resilient and adaptable, surviving in various lighting conditions, though it favours well-drained soil and occasional watering.

Care Tips

  1. Light Requirements: Place the Anthurium in bright but filtered sunlight to enhance its flower production. The Spider Plant prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate lower light levels.

  2. Watering: Ensure that the Anthurium's soil remains moist but not soggy. The Spider Plant, conversely, should dry out between waterings, making it more forgiving for beginners.

  3. Humidity: Anthuriums thrive in high humidity, so consider misting the leaves or placing a humidifier nearby. The Spider Plant is less demanding but appreciates occasional humidity.

  4. Fertilisation: Feed the Anthurium with a balanced fertiliser every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). The Spider Plant benefits from fertilisation every 2-3 months.

Benefits

Both plants contribute to improved air quality, with the Spider Plant being particularly effective at removing harmful indoor pollutants. The addition of these lush foliage plants not only enhances the aesthetic of your space but also promotes a healthier living environment.

In conclusion, the combination of the Anthurium and Spider Plant can create a stunning focal point in your home while being relatively easy to care for. Their complementary aesthetics and care requirements make them an excellent choice for plant enthusiasts at any level.
